Entomology: Butterfly Eco biology
The flying jewels butterflies are lovely and graceful insects provide economic and ecological benefits to the human society. They involve in insect plant interactions and they accomplish pollination a key ecological process. In my research butterfly species counts in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh listed 121 species and in which 48 butterfly species life cycles (Egg, Larvae, Pupae and adult formation) and its food energetics ( AD, GR, ECI & ECD) were worked out. Captive breeding succefully conducting last 13 years with huge number of butterflies produced and released every year in to the vegetation. Established one model Butterfly Park in Yogi Vemana University where more number of butterfly larval and nectar host plants was maintained. Insect museum also established in the campus. In my research we focused on several factors how climate change affects on these butterfly diversity annually. Habitat destruction, pollution effects and host plants availability also recorded periodically. Present life cycle works of Pierids, Papilionids, Nymphalids, and Hespirids are under process. >
Also we have to start the molecular works on butterflies to generate basic genetic information of several butterfly species using available techniques. >
