Dr. Katta Venkateswarlu, Associate Professor of Department of Chemistry in Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, India. He has specialized in in the field of Organic Synthesis and Natural Products. He is also working on the development of sustainable catalytic systems for the production of biofuels. He has teaching experience of over 13 years and research experience of 20 years. The following is the details about his research areas.
  Synthetic Methodologies: Dr. Venkateswarlu has good expertise in the development of new/novel synthetic methodologies for the production of fine chemicals and bioactive substances including biaryls, halo organics, amines, enamines, coumarins and other heterocyclic compounds, chiral sulfinyl imines, benzofuran-2-ones, porphyrins, etc. Several homogeneous as well as heterogeneous catalytic systems as well as uncatalyzed processes have been developed by him in this area of research.
  Natural Products: Dr. Venkateswarlu involve in the isolation, purification, structural characterisation, partial modification and biological study of secondary metabolites of plant origin.
  Biomass Explorations – Sustainable Chemistry: Dr. Venkateswarlu’s is recently engaged in the development of several sustainable state-of-the-art synthetic methodologies employing ashes of waste biomass-based aqueous extracts. These basic extracts were investigated for their application as catalysts or crucial bases in transition-metal based chemistry. He is one of the top-most active chemists in this area lead to publish several articles in the reputed high-impact journals of organic chemistry and environmental science.
  Organic Synthesis: Total synthesis of bio-active organic compounds like isoaurones, coumarins, goniothalamin, benzofuran-2-one derivatives, etc is his another area of research activity along with the development of new/novel synthetic methodologies.
  Energy: Recently Dr. Venkateswarlu also actively involves in the development of sustainable (catalytic) systems for the alternative energy sources including biodiesel (fatty acid ethyl/methyl esters) and solar light.
